Foundations of a Vision

Rochon Building Corporation was founded in 1989 by Martin Rochon, shortly after he graduated from St. Francis Xavier University. From the beginning, Martin built the company on transparency, principled management, and accountability—values that remain core to Rochon today. His vision was to create a construction company that clients could trust, one that delivered with honesty and discipline. The firm started with small renovation and retrofit projects across the GTA, steadily building a reputation for reliability and straightforward execution.

Nationwide Commercial Expertise

The 1990s marked Rochon’s first wave of expansion. The firm began delivering retail interior programs nationwide, building strong relationships with retailers and sharpening its ability to deliver consistently across multiple geographies. At the same time, Rochon established itself in the commercial sector through office and retail fit-outs, which naturally evolved into base building projects.

In 1998, Martin launched Rocket Facility Services to extend client support beyond construction. Rocket provided preventative maintenance, reactive service, and small project execution, ensuring clients had a trusted partner not just for building but for ongoing facility needs. This integration of construction and facility services positioned Rochon as a dependable, long-term partner.

By the close of the decade, Rochon had proven itself as a trusted builder for developers and brokers, valued for efficient delivery, consistent performance, and a transparent approach to project execution.

Diversification and Integration

The 2000s brought diversification across sectors. Rochon expanded further into institutional work, delivering projects for healthcare and education clients while continuing to grow its commercial and retail capabilities. The decade saw the firm strengthening systems for cost control, schedule management, and trade coordination, laying the foundation for larger, more complex projects ahead.

Scaling Up with High-Value, Complex Projects

The 2010s were a decade of scale and complexity. Rochon emerged as a full-service general contractor managing high-value, multi-faceted projects across industrial, commercial, and institutional sectors. The firm delivered major builds for clients such as Canada Post, LA Fitness, and Mercedes-Benz, each requiring detailed planning, advanced scheduling, and precise execution. These projects solidified Rochon’s reputation as a contractor capable of executing at scale, handling challenging timelines, and navigating complex stakeholder requirements—all while maintaining the transparent, accountable approach established at its founding.
